On Thursday around 6 p.m., Armani Kelly, 28, Dante Wicker, 31, and Montoya Givens, 31, were discovered under waste at the vacant Northcourse Apartments in Highland Park, according to the Detroit News.

The search for three aspiring rappers ended in Detroit when bodies thought to be theirs was discovered in an abandoned Highland Park apartment complex.

The three were reported missing on January 21 after their performance at Lounge 31 was canceled due to 'technical difficulties.' Last week, police arrested a 15-year-old who was in possession of Kelly's car.

How The Teenager Got Involved

There were no signs of a struggle in the car. As of now, it is unknown whether the teenager contributed to the discovery of the missing men. The car he was driving did not have any license plates.

Discovering Their Bodies

Lieutenant Mike Shaw of the Michigan State Police told the outlet that the apartment where the bodies were discovered was not operational. While Shaw did not confirm the identities of the three men, they were revealed to The Detroit News by a source.

Lorrie Kemp, Kelly's mother, previously stated that she fears former inmates have murdered her son after his release on an armed robbery charge last year.

Filing A Missing Person's Report

Kemp and Kelly's fiancée, Taylor Perrin, filed a report two days after his disappearance, but it took police a week to realize Wicker and Givens were also missing in an 'extraordinary' case, according to investigators.

Kelly had previously served an eight-year sentence in prison for armed robbery, where he met the other two missing men, according to his fiancée. Following their mysterious disappearance, his mother has stated that she believes the rapper was targeted by those he encountered behind bars.

Kelly's Mom's Statement

"I'm angry because you did eight years in prison and you didn't die, and now you come out and they kill you," Kemp said.  "He's dead - I don't care. I love that people are optimistic, and I love that they think there's hope, but I know in my gut."

Did They Arrive At The Club Or Not?

The trio drove to Detroit together, but it's unclear whether they arrived at the club. Kelly, also known as Marley Whoop, was about to perform only his second show when he was told it had been canceled at the last minute.

Kelly Notified His Mom And Fiancé

The 28-year-old last left a voicemail for his mother around 5 p.m., informing her that he had arrived in Detroit for the show before texting his fiancé Perrin that the gig had been canceled.

Perrin said she became concerned when her messages to him stopped arriving around 7:30 p.m., and police said the phones belonging to Kelly and the two men he was with had not recorded any activity since that evening.

Kelly And Perrin Always Kept In Touch

Perrin told Detroit News that they had always kept in touch and didn't go hours without talking or texting to let the other know they were okay. Her mind began racing as soon as the messages stopped delivering, and she couldn't sleep all night.

"I just don’t understand how this happened and how there are three grown men missing, and nobody seems to know anything."

Her Reaction When Kelly Stopped Responding

After Kelly stopped responding to her, Perrin launched a frantic search, including tracking his car using the vehicle security service OnStar.

She discovered his car had been driven to Warren, about 15 miles from Detroit, and had been suspiciously moved three times following his disappearance

The car was first tracked to a church two days after the canceled performance before moving to an apartment complex the next day. Four days later, police discovered the vehicle in a different apartment parking lot, with no trace of the three men.

Perrin says the car was discovered covered in mud and without a license plate.

Investigation In Progress

Michigan State Police, on the other hand, tweeted updates from the scene after discovering "multiple victims" in a building at McNichols and Log Cabin.

Keeping Everyone Updated

They also added that once they have gathered all the necessary information, they would leave the update on their Twitter.
