On 2020 Jan. 26, the star L.A. Lakers player died in a helicopter crash with his daughter Gianna and seven other people on their way to Gigi's basketball game.

The entire world stopped when the news of their death broke on the internet, with fans talking about all the good things Bryant did for the community and his culture.

Three years later, on the anniversary of his tragic passing, the world remembers him fondly. ESPN shared a picture of Bryant and his daughter saying the world lost them.

Fellow Laker basketballer Lebron James shared a picture on his Instagram including an infinity sign and a brown heart.

20 Years Of Excellence

The Black Mamba won five NBA Championships in his 20-year career run with the Lakers. During two of those matches, the NBA named Bryant the MVP and he earned another MVP accolade during the league.

Jersey 8 And 24

During his 20-year career, Bryant had two significant jersey numbers, 8 and 24. He wore number 8 in the first ten years, then switched to number 24 in the last ten years. The star player won his first three NBA championships between 2000 - 2002 wearing his "8" jersey.

Second Half Of His Career

Bryant's last two championships came from 2009 to 2010, wearing his number 24 jersey. Within 20 years, the late NBA star earned almost 17,000 points. When he retired in 2017, Bryant's jersey made the Lakers almost $1 million.

The Retirement Party
