Dolly Parton expressed her hope that Lisa Marie Presley, who tragically departed suddenly, is now "happy" with her father, Elvis, in heaven.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 76-year-old singer-songwriter spoke candidly about Presley's passing at 54.
"That was a sad, sad loss, and when I had made my statement that I just wanted to send my sympathies to Priscilla 'cause I can only imagine, but I knew he'd be waiting for her, I just wanted to send my sympathies to Priscilla 'cause I can only imagine, but I knew he'd be waiting for her.
The singer continued,
"I thought, 'Well, Elvis is there waiting for her,' and we just all love that family and just wish them the best, but that was a sad, sad loss.
"Hopefully they are up there being happy together, and hopefully Priscilla [Presley] will find some peace through the love that we all have for her."
Before her ET interview, the 9 to 5 singer sent Lisa Marie's mother Priscilla Presley a message of sympathy on Instagram on Saturday.
The post has garnered over 600 thousand likes and 3 thousand plus comments admiring the Jolene singer for always having the right words to say.

At her father's Memphis estate Graceland, Lisa Marie will be buried close to her adored son Benjamin Keough who died by suicide in 2020. Following his death, Lisa Marie grieved hard for her son; however, she claimed she would be strong for her three girls, Riley, Finley, and Harper.
Riley Keough, 33, and the twins Finley and Harper, 14, will inherit the legendary mansion of Elvis, Graceland, which rakes over $50 million thanks to Priscilla, who put the estate to good use by making it the second most visited place by tourist following the white house which is number one.
Elvis passed away in 1977 at 42, while Lisa Marie was only nine. The house was Lisa Marie's childhood home.
Priscilla, a 77-year-old actress and businesswoman, and her three daughters Riley, 33, Finley, and Harper Lockwood, 14, are left behind by Lisa Marie.
On Sunday, January 22, there will be a public memorial service during which she will be laid to rest.
