Christina Applegate made her first award show appearance in two years this weekend at the Critics Choice Awards. The actress, wearing matching outfits, attended the show with her preteen daughter, Sadie Grace LeNoble.

It was great for fans to see the Friends actress out and healthy following her Multiple Sclerosis (MS) diagnoses.

Nomination At The Critics Choice Awards

The 51-year-old earned a nomination for Best Actress in a Comedy Series at the 28th Critics Awards for her role in the Netflix show, Dead to Me. Although she lost the role to Abbot Elementary's Quinta Brunson, Applegate won the red carpet with her mini-me.

Tribute To Jen & Judy

The 51-year-old actress paid tribute to her Dead to Me character and co-star Linda Cardellini. She wore a statement manicure spelling out Jen Judy, confirming their on-screen friendship spilled into real life.

Making A Statement

Applegate carried a fancy black walking stick to aid her movement. Its pearl beads stood out against her deep teal nail polish, while the inscriptions glittered in gold. The actress blended the accessories with a dark black pantsuit and wore her blonde hair down.

Grateful For The Inclusion

The actress tweeted that she was grateful for her nomination and invitation to the award show, as she noted it was her first public event since 2019. Applegate said her 11-year-old was rad for accompanying her on a special night.

Another Nomination In The Bag

Applegate is having a great year after her brief hiatus from the industry following her MS diagnosis in 2021. She also earned a SAG Awards nomination which pleased her because of her long-term membership.

Back In The Game

Applegate said she had a hard year and the consecutive acknowledgment from her peers lifted her spirits. The actress also thanked Jean Smart and the other nominees in the category.

The Dead to Me actress told Kelly Clarkson that the MS diagnosis and treatment took its toll on her. It affected her during the filming of the Netflix series before she knew what was wrong.

Applegate said she navigated the set with a wheelchair and assistance severally, until she got an emergency MRI and discovered she had MS.

Applegate also used her diagnosis to warn her colleagues and other people about neglecting their health for work. She said the illness presented years ago but chalked it up to tiredness.

Tackling The Disease Head-On

Thankfully, it didn't get too late before she discovered it, so she tackled it head-on. Multiple treatments later, Applegate is back out and about.
