Naomi Osaka's Next Grand Slam: Motherhood and Return to Tennis

The four-time Grand Slam winner took to her official Twitter page to post two images. The first one was quite telling as it was a sonogram taken during a doctor's appointment. The second image was a lengthy write-up explaining her first photo. Osaka wrote in her caption:

The 25-year-old shared her major life update with a lengthy wrote up. She wrote about how the past few years "have been interesting" while adding that she discovered that the most challenging times may be "the most fun." She relayed that the few months before the Australian Open has given her "a new love and appreciation for her game I've dedicated my life to. She penned, "I realize that life is so short and I don't take any moments for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure."

Osaka mentioned that she was looking forward to the future and one of her desires was to witness her kid watch "one of my matches and tell someone, 'that's my mom.'" The tennis icon announced that 2023 will be "a year full of lessons" for her. She finally relayed that she would not be part of the coming games while promising fans she would be back in 2024. According to TMZ, Osaka is said to be expecting her first child with American rapper, Cordae.

The concluding part of her eye-opening post showed Osaka sharing a side note. She penned that she did not think there was a perfectly correct path to take in life but she always felt that moving forward with good intentions will help one find their way eventually.

A few days ago the athlete was in the news when it was announced that she had pulled out of the Australian Open. Her name was initially on the entry list for the game, but she was not scheduled to play in warm-up tournaments in Adelaide and Hobart. Osaka has not played in the WTA Tour since withdrawing during her match with Beatriz Haddad Maia in September 2022.

Osaka and Cordae have been eating since 2019 and once waded off split rumors together. According to reports, the pair met at an NBA game in Los Angeles and they hit it off right from the start. She recalled how she met him in an interview with GQ. Naomi shared that she saw a lot of people trying to take pictures with Cordae, and noticed how "welcoming" he was.

Cordae and Osaka have couple photos across their social media pages, but they keep much of the details of their love life private. Cordae revealed that they dated for a year before it became public knowledge. He noted that they did not really post the intimate moments because he felt that was "sacred."

Back when Osaka publicly battled depression and struggled with her mental health, Cordae was right by her side. She made it known at the time that he would often fly out when she was down no matter how busy he was. She noted that he helped her win by keeping up the motivation.
