Tori Spelling's Shocking $87,000 Credit Card Debt

Recently, The Sun reported that for a while, Tori was in an American Express credit card debt of about $87,594.55. The unpaid credit card debt led to the company filing a lawsuit against the actress in October 2016.

Then, in March 2017, a default judgment was made against the actress, ordering her to pay back the amount she owed. However, the debt remained unpaid for the next few years, causing the bank to file a series of writ of executions, requesting the Los Angeles Sheriff's office enforce the actress to pay the judgment.

In July 2020, Tori had some amount seized from her bank account following her refusal to pay back the debts she owed American Express. Tori couldn't pay her credit card bills for the next few months, but the bank was determined to get their money.

In October 2021, American Express filed a suit, instructing the Sheriff to execute garnishment to withhold Tori's earnings from Entertainment Partners, a payroll company. Unfortunately, it was ineffective as Tori was not a staff member of the company.

Finally, after much back and forth, Los Angeles courts officially released a lien in April 2022. The lien's release meant that Tori's unsettled credit card debt of nearly $88,000 had been paid off.

Tori's American Express credit card debt case is only one of the few debt cases the actress has been involved in the last few years. Sometime in June 2019, Tori was hit with a default judgment of $5,043.32.

Cavalry SPV I sued the actress over an unpaid credit card debt. The document noted that the company had bought the debt from Citibank and was now in charge of getting it paid. However, Tori blew off the lawsuit for months despite being properly served with the paperwork.

In February 2021, Cavalry SPV I filed a Writ of Execution of a Money Judgment of $6,394.30. The increment resulted from the interest following Tori's decision to blow off paying the organization.

According to the court documents, the debt-buying company also requested that the Los Angeles Sheriff or Marshall's Office enforce Tori to pay the judgment.

Eventually, a judge decided to grant the default judgment after getting tired of waiting around for the actress to show up in court. To date, the outcome of Tori and Cavalry SPV I's court case remains unknown.
