Veronica was booked on two counts of "acting in a manner injurious to a child", following her husband's fatal heart attack. The NYPD spokesperson reporting the case stated that police responded to an urgent 911 call at 11 p.m. the same evening of his death, reporting "unattended children" at 50 Vanderbilt Avenue in Manhattan, NYC. The property houses the Yale Club, which is a members-only hotel.

Kids Left Alone

Per the spokesperson a female aged 2 and a female aged only 5 months were left unattended inside the property and, specifically, in a hotel room - for an "extended period of time." While the identity of the two infants has not been revealed, they precisely match the ages of Veronica and Dax's two daughters. The Tejeras' residence is in Chevy Chase, MD.

'Heavy Heart' Goodbye

In a Christmas Eve memo and just days after Dax's death, ABC News President Kim Godwin stated, "It’s with a heavy heart and great sadness that we share that our friend and colleague, Dax Tejera passed away suddenly of a heart attack last night."
