Jane Fonda is reassuring fans that getting older isn't anything to worry about. The legendary actress and activist has made major headlines this winter for celebrating being cancer-free - shortly before her 85th birthday this month, she got the all-clear and has also opened up on getting on, overall. Jane spoke to In Style while she was still 84 and shortly before Christmas. In the December 21 reveal, the Hollywood star said that she was "seriously in the middle of old," but also took a fun angle as she proved she can think outside the box.

Totally Okay With Hitting 85

Of being in the "middle" of "old," Janie shared: "But once you're inside of it, as opposed to looking at it from the outside, it's not all that scary."
The On Golden Pond star also spoke of what she feels keeps her going as she enjoys her mid-eighties- it's mind as well as body for the star who remains legendary for her 80's workout videos. "I'm a curious person, and I'm constantly learning, and I think that's important," she continued. "My dad died six years younger than me, and sure, I have cancer, but we’re getting that dealt with chemo and I feel lucky."
Keeping It Fresh
Jane has, separately, opened up on how she ages so well. Yes, there's a nutrition aspect. Jane has revealed that she eats "fresh food" and that she always applies moisturizer. In addition, she stays out of the sun and keeps her spirits up with friends who make her laugh. "Laughter is a good thing too," she has said, per Shape.
Cancer-Free In 2022
Jane was this year diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. In a winter IG share, the joyfully shared good news about her prognosis.
"Last week I was told by my oncologist that my cancer is in remission and I can discontinue chemo. I am feeling so blessed, so fortunate. I thank all of you who prayed and sent good thoughts my way," she wrote, also thanking fans for all the love and support along her cancer journey.
Chemo Was Tough
Of the treatment she underwent, Jane noted the privilege she has via her wealth and celebrity status. She also confirmed that while her first four chemo sessions were pretty good going and that she only suffered a little fatigue, the final one was "rough" and left her able to do little.
