David Harbour shared shocking news about his relationship with Madonna with Jimmy Kimmel during his nighttime show, Jimmy Kimmel Live. Before playing Hopper in the critically-acclaimed TV series Stranger Thingsthe actor auditioned for a role on W.E.

Popstar Madonna directed the movie featuring Oscar Isaac, Abbie Cornish, and Andrea Riseborough. Despite its mixed reviews from critics, it won a Golden Globe for Best Original Song and got a nomination for its costume design.

You wouldn't believe the reason Madonna chose Harbour to play Ernest, according to the 47-year-old.

Madonna Thought He Was Sexy

Harbour shared his story with Kimmel saying Madonna chose him for his looks. He said his friend, the casting director, told him the project was top secret but revealed that the director chose him because "they thought he was sexy."

However, the person didn't tell him who it was, so he thought of all the big names in the industry, from Ridley Scott to Martin Scorsese. Harbour was surprised to learn that the director was Madonna, which boosted his confidence even more.

Harbour said he knew the movie wouldn't do well commercially as Madonna was a genius in many realms but not in the movie industry. Things might be different today, but that's left to be proven.

The actor said Madonna invited him to her birthday party that year, which was one of his life's best things. He danced with the pop star to her music, making a moment for life.

Meanwhile, Harbour is one of the stars of Netflix's big-time horror/thriller, Stranger Things. He's also the lead actor in the Christmas movie Violent Night.

New Movies Coming Soon And More 'Stranger Things' Gossip

Violent Night follows Santa Claus through a rage-filled Christmas night, and Harbour hopes it'll become a Christmas classic. Fans really want to know behind-the-scenes details from the final season of Stranger Things.

Despite knowing how everything ends (theoretically), Harbor couldn't say much because the directors, the Duffer Brothers, could change the script.

Dedicated To His Craft

Harbour, however, revealed that the series is riddled with Eighties Easter eggs including the Conan the Barbarian sword. The actor said he asked Arnold Schwarzenegger to critique his technique on Stranger Things but never got a reply.

Harbour is a dedicated actor and would go to any feasible length to bring his character to life. One of his most notable transformations was the physical change in Hopper's physique from Season Three to Season Four. He shared some tips with his Instagram followers, saying,

"All told it was a difficult and exciting ride."
