Traveling with friends is supposed to be a fun time, filled with beautiful destinations, fancy outfits, and one too many cocktails at dinner.

It shouldn't be all about drama (not unless you're one of the Real Housewives). But that's exactly how one trip ended for a Redditor.

They took to Reddit's AITA community to try to justify leaving their friend behind at the airport.

Traveling With Friends Doesn't Always End Well

The OP proved this fact on a recent trip to Califonia with their friend, Emma. They told the friend that they specifically wanted to see the Golden Gate Bridge and the Japanese Tea Garden.

Everything with the trip started off great. Emma's friend picked them up from the airport, prepared gifts for them, and was happy to have them as guests in their home.

Emma kept her promise on seeing the sights the OP wanted to see. They saw the bridge twice, the Japanese Tea Garden, Ghirardelli Square, Japan Town, the Pier, and lots more. She was also a great friend, as the OP explained. "Emma always asked if I wanted my picture taken in front of things, and offered to retake or take more photos if I was unhappy with them."

Once the trip was done, Emma was supposed to stay at the OP's house for the night since her train trip wasn't scheduled until the next day. But when they returned from the trip, someone had taken Emma's carry-on. Anyone who has lost luggage knows how much of a hassle this is.

"She said that she wanted to try and find it before the person who took it left with it, and she hurried off," the OP wrote. "I didn't see her past customs, so I left to meet my boyfriend who was picking us up and left without her."

If that wasn't bad enough, they also messaged her and told her to find her own way back to the station. Understandably, Emma was confused because she was supposed to stay at the OP's house for the night.

"I asked her what she wanted me to do, run after her?" the OP explained. "She said that she just wanted a bit of understanding that she had her carry-on taken, because everything she brought was in the bag and it was a stressful situation."

They then snapped back at her, arguing that the whole trip was to see her friend. Emma countered back that they had gone sightseeing for them, and that their friend was such a wonderful house by driving them around, paying for gas, feeding them, and providing accommodation.

"I can admit that I was a little passive-aggressive, but she went on to say that if my luggage was taken, she would be with me as support: I said well it's not my fault she lost her luggage," the OP wrote.

As a result, Emma has since removed them from social media and has not spoken to them.
