Fans of The Drew Barrymore Show know full well how the hostess feels when it comes to the subject of dating. For years now, she's kindly rebuffed the advances of would-be suitors, opting instead to focus on her career and raising her children.

However, after a recent sitdown with special guest, Whoopi Goldberg, it appears that Drew Barrymore's attitude toward the matter has taken a complete 180. She's now officially back in the saddle; single and ready to mingle.

After spellbinding performances in Firestarter and E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, Drew became a certified movie star before she could even legally drive. She went on to star in some of the most popular pictures of the '90s and early '00s, including The Wedding Singer, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind, and Charlie's Angels. Today, she's been happily hosting her own daytime TV show, aptly titled The Drew Barrymore Show. But in recent years, Drew has been discussed more for her personal life than her professional body of work.

Drew divorced her ex-husband, Will Kopelman, back in 2016 after four years of marriage. Together, they share two young daughters, Olive and Frankie, who up until very recently have taken center stage in Drew's life. But during a recent sitdown with special guest, Whoopi Goldberg, Drew shocked the world by announcing that she's once again ready to put herself out there and give dating another shot.

Back To Dating

Whoopi emphatically replied that she was not, which prompted a giddy Barrymore to proclaim, "I am."

Drew continued by explaining that it had been so many years since her last date and that she feared she was becoming too good at being alone. The hostess explained that she got to the point where she loved being alone so much and realized something needed to give.

Just this past month, Barrymore declared her intention to stay single and a lack of desire to date while interviewing her guest/friend, George Clooney. Earlier this year, she got incredibly candid on the subject with Queer Eye's Bobby Berk, wherein she conveyed how she simply didn't feel ready — being that she had two young kids at home.

This change of heart comes as a welcome surprise to Drew's friends and fans, all of whom wish her the best and hope that she'll finally find the kind of love and happiness she so readily bestows upon everyone she meets.
