If you've already binge-watched Netflix Wednesday starring Jenna Ortega, you're in good company. The series had a record-breaking debut on Netflix with 335 million hours viewed in its first week.

But in the midst of devouring every morsel of the series, a lot of easter eggs went right over our heads. This includes callbacks to the original films starring Christina Ricci as Wednesday, references to director Tim Burton's work, and more. Keep reading for these easter eggs!

Wednesday's Dancing

One thing people loved about the series, which also stars Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia and Luis Guzman as Gomez, was Jenna's iconic dancing scene.

This took place in episode four at Nevermore's Rave’N dance to the track of The Cramps’ track Goo Goo Muck. Ortega's moves, which she choreographed herself, soon went viral, with people recreating the dance on TikTok. But that's not the first time we've seen Wednesday bust a move.

This was a delicious callback to the original TV sitcom from the 1960s The Addams Family. In Season Two, Wednesday (Lisa Loring) teaches the family's butler, Lurch, how to dance.

Wednesday's Archery Talent

Wednesday has proven to be a woman of many talents. In addition to playing the cello, she excelled at dancing, escaping, and fencing. Another talent she has is archery, which was shown when she tries out for several clubs at Nevermore.

Her skills were a callback to the 1993 film, Addams Family Values, when Wednesday and her brother, Pugsley, were shown performing archery.

The Two Snaps

Are you really an Addams Family fan if you don't snap twice during the original film's theme song? We didn't think so. Even Christina Ricci did it herself while playing Wednesday in the previous adaptions.

Jenna's version of Wednesday does the double snap when discovering the secret passageway to the Night Shades' meeting place. In order to enter, she has to snap twice. Later on, Christina's character, Miss Thornhill, snaps her fingers twice to enter the library.

The Tim Burton References

As the show's director, the iconic Tim Burton took it upon himself to reference some of his past work. This was shown several times, including in the first episode when Wednesday goes into the coffee shop where Tyler works.

Behind him on the walls were weathervanes that reference Burton's work. The first was a top hat, which is a nod to Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. The other was a headless horseman, which references Sleepy Hollow.
