If you've ever been inside a Dollar Tree, you've probably encountered a really long checkout line. It seems like they almost always have just one cashier at the front, who has to deal with dozens of customers at a time. It's pretty easy to get frustrated (even though it's not the cashier's fault).

A viral TikTok posted by user @mixedbeautty shows a customer having a faceoff with a Dollar Tree manager over the ridiculously long line of people trying to pay for their items. The video ended up sparking a debate over staffing issues that many stores like Dollar Tree have to deal with.

The TikTok Begins With Several People Mumbling

Text overlay on the screen reads, "He said let's all just walk out," accompanied by two laughing emojis. One man shouts, "Get the manager!" Several more people keep complaining until the manager approaches and a man demands another register be opened because of the long line.

The manager then tells him that he'll "hire on the spot." As the customers argue with him, he asks if they "can ring" and makes more comments about how he needs the help. The TikTok ends with the manager seemingly walking toward the register as if to open another lane to help ease the line.

Since being posted on the 12th of November, the TikTok has been viewed over 700 thousand times.

A lot of commenters laughed at the contents of the TikTok, especially when the user who uploaded the video said, "I'll take a part-time" at the end of it. While it was probably frustrating to actually be in that line, there were a lot of people who found the humor in it.

But a Lot of Commenters Had Sympathy for the Manager

Many commenters pointed out the fact that pretty much every Dollar Tree is short-staffed, and the people who work there are really doing their best to get everyone out as quickly and efficiently as possible. But it can be difficult when there are very few people working at one time, and there are a lot of customers trying to shop.

Even More Users Felt Bad for the Manager in This Situation

As some users pointed out, you're definitely going to feel the manager's frustration if you've ever worked in retail. You don't even have to be a manager to know that it's tough getting people to work as cashiers these days.
