Fans of '90s R&B will remember Jesse Powell's hit song, "You" which was released in 1996 and rereleased in 1999. The single rose to the top of the Billboard charts during its rerelease and became a hit with those holding on to the last bit of that classic '90s R&B sound.

It has been reported by Deadline that the singer died at age 51.

On Tuesday night, Jesse Powell's sister, Grammy award winner Tamara Powell, announced that her brother had passed away.

Tamara said her brother died peacefully at his home in Hollywood. While no official cause of death was given, unconfirmed reports suggest cardiac arrest, as per Deadline.

Sharing a video of her brother singer, Tamara wrote: "That voice! Aside from being one of the best R&B male vocalists out there, you were the best big brother ever. I loved you so much. I'm thankful that we were so close; a whole mess all the time."

"We absolutely adored you "Jet" & our family will not be the same without you," she concluded.

Our thoughts are with Jesse's loved ones during this difficult time.
