Putting our kids into their car seats in the car can be an entire workout for some parents. Our kids are not the easiest to deal with, let's face it.

They are like octopus hands and arms when we need them to sit still and just be calm. All of us go through the motions of trying to get them strapped in rather quickly, but fail constantly.

Car seats are an integral part of childhood safety.

For decades, parents have researched and made sure to purchase the best car seats on the market in order to keep their children safe when on the road. It's one of the most requested items on baby registries.

While car seats are extremely safe and important, they are also a huge headache, too.

Not only are car seats extremely expensive, but they are also very challenging to install and do so correctly. Of course, it's important to install them correctly in order for them to work well.

One of the most annoying parts of putting our kids in car seats is the straps.

The straps are the most important part to ensure that children do not fly out of the seat, but they are also the most annoying. They are always getting stuck and mangled and mixed up every time we need them.

And, let's not forget when our kids are sitting on them, too.

There's nothing worse than having to dig your hand behind your child's butt in order to dig out the straps to put them into their car seats properly. Clearly, it's one of the most aggravating parts of having to use the things.

One dad on TikTok, however, discovered a new hack to prevent that.

TikTok user @lifehackdad shares tons of lifehacks and discoveries he finds throughout parenting with his thousands of followers online. Recently, he shared a new hack for car seats that we have all been missing out on.

Apparently, the dad discovered car seats actually come with holders for the straps.

On the left and right sides of the car seat, there are apparently slots that you can put the left and right straps into while your child is not in the car seat. That way, when you put them in, you don't lose them underneath them.

It's a total win.

For parents who are late for a doctor's appointment, late for dropping their kids off at school, or who just don't want to be busy trying to strap their kid in for 20 minutes—it's a game changer.

Many parents online couldn't believe they hadn't known this before.

People were shocked that they totally missed this, having had children for so many years and using so many different car seats. Some said they were going to strap their adult children in just to use this hack.

Others went outside to make sure it was true.

One mom said that she ran outside at 1:00 am in her pajamas to make sure that this was on her car seat and totally real—when she saw that it was, she was dumbfounded.

Some people, however, said that they have no time for this.

Many parents commented saying they have no time to fix everything so perfectly, they'll just fish around for things like they normally do because they cannot be bothered at all.

Unfortunately, there's not the same for the bottom buckle.

While having this for the left and right strap is truly a miracle, it would be even better if there was one for the bottom buckle, which arguably is the worst one of them all.
