There's an old saying that talks about how you should never meet your heroes. More often than not, our favorite celebs simply aren't who we expect them to be and we wind up forever disappointed.

Redditor PokenalaYT was just 3 years old when they met former president, Barack Obama. They happened to run into the POTUS at the Iowa State Fair and he spent five minutes listening to them tell a story about their tooth.
After a particularly exhausting concert performance, Redditor tikivic ran into Weird Al during a meet-n-greet. Even though Al was exhausted, he was all smiles and incredibly pleasant — he even took the time to recommend a tailor in order to obtain a good zoot suit.
While Reddit user was in the crowd at their brother's graduation, they happened to notice Ryan Gosling sitting directly in front of them. Apparently, Ryan was there to watch his own mother receive her Master's Degree. He clapped for absolutely every kid who walked across the stage.
One night, Reddit user RenegadeOwens was bowling with their youth group. In walked Michael Sheen who proceeded to spend the rest of the night teaching the kids how to master the hook throw and nail a 7-10 split.
Reddit user nattiebroskette was well aware of Dwayne's reputation for kindness, but even they couldn't believe their eyes. Dwayne was kind and relaxed and even offered to sign a few items for nattiebroskette and their sisters.
According to Reddit user arabelladfigg, Renée showed up unannounced in order to volunteer at Austin Pets Alive. She assisted with the laundry, cleaned out dirty crates, and even drove vans of dogs from Houston to Austin.

Reddit user The_Duke28 and their friend met Dave and the rest of Foo Fighters while out at a bar. After chatting and drinking, Dave invited them to the show the next night as his own special guests.
Reddit user DTownForever worked on one of George's films as a grunt. According to their recollection, George was all smiles all the time and was constantly playing pranks on both the cast and crew alike.
Reddit user 2Dfruity was only 8 years old when they spotted the master of horror stepping out of a limo. They yelled out to Stephen about how they loved "Cujo." To which Stephen replied, "Who the [expletive] let this kid read "Cujo"?"
Reddit user 88LostInSpace served on a jury, where RDJ was an alternate. The MCU star apparently took meticulous notes and enjoyed nothing more than chatting with the other jurors about everything and nothing.

Reddit user squirrellyamateur was working as an extra on one of Johnny's more recent films. It happened to be raining that day and the PAs were holding an umbrella over his head to keep from getting wet. Seeing that squirrellyamateur didn't have one of their own, he promptly offered his own.
During a live performance of Jack's band, Tenacious D, Redditor schoonerw called out from the crowd, exclaiming about how he loved Jack's shirt. Jack simply smiled back and proceeded to remove his clothes, mid-performance, in order to trade.
