20 People Who Have Got To Get A New Stylist

Getting your hair cut shouldn't be a big deal. You should be able to just go in, let your stylist or barber do their thing, and then leave with a fresh cut or flattering highlights.

But as the people in this list prove, you really need to be careful of who you let cut your hair. Switching stylists is perfectly acceptable!

"Went to the hairdressers for a straight cut and ended up with a wonky one."

A person's crooked haircut that falls along their back.

I'm pretty sure part of hairdressing school is dedicated to making sure you don't cut a client's hair like this. It also helps if you don't sit cross-legged (which a stylist should tell you not to do, anyway).

"Girlfriend was helping cut my hair, she was doing a fantastic job until I heard a gasp."

The back of a man's head that has been poorly and unevenly shaven.
reddit | GentlemanCookie

The gasp says it all. At that point, you don't even need to take a picture of the carnage. Just get a beanie and call it a day.

"I asked for subtle balayage… hair stylist won’t text me back after asking her to fix it."

The side of a woman's head, where she has chunky blonde highlights in her dark hair.
reddit | ninefortysix

Chunky highlights may have been a thing, like, 20 years ago, but today they just look messy. And considering that isn't even what OP wanted, yikes.

"My mom went to the hairdresser to get the hair color on the left, she came home with the color on the right..."

The way those are two different colors, though... But what makes this worse is how the hairdresser didn't even try to get rid of some of that frizz.

"I paid $150 to get my grays colored tonight."

A person's hair where there are many visible grey roots.
reddit | BonKweeKwee

Hopefully, the dresser agrees to fix that, because there's way too much gray in there to say that they colored all of the gray. You could probably do a better job at home for a fraction of the price.

"Went to the barber for a haircut. Tipped well. Went home and noticed this…"

The back of a man's head that's poorly shaven.

I think the worst part about this is that OP tipped well for that disastrous hairline. I'm betting the barber didn't hold a mirror up to the back of his head on purpose.

"What I asked for vs what I got. $400 and I feel like an idiot."

Professionally styled ash grey hair with waves, versus poorly styled straw blonde hair with frizz.
reddit | Vegemiteonpikelets

To be fair, that kind of gray is pretty hard to dye. But the stylist should've been transparent about their skills there. Also, the way the waves were so poorly styled. What a waste of money.

"Got a perm - or so I thought."

A head of wavy hair versus a head of hair with loose, flat waves.
reddit | Barti2020

I'm pretty convinced that hairstylists straight up don't know how to curl hair properly (it's making me feel lucky that I have naturally curly hair, to be honest). I guess just stick to the curling iron?

"I think I need to find a new barber."

A man's short cropped hair, compared to Jim Carey from Dumb and Dumber.
reddit | sipicup

This guy really got the "Will from Stranger Things season 4" hairstyle, before that season even aired! My only advice is, either shave it all, or wear a hat for a few weeks.

"My barber at Sports Clips apparently didn't know what a zero fade was."

A man with a strange haircut; longer on top and completely shaved on the sides, like a really short mohawk.
reddit | ahobel95

I don't even know how you'd describe this haircut. It's like a mohawk that doesn't want to fully commit as a mohawk. Like a fade that faded a little too much.

"Boyfriend decided to try out a new hairdresser."

A before and after showing a man's hair that's been cut and layered poorly.
reddit | MoonSearcher

Nothing like going to a new hairdresser only for them to cut your hair in the worst layers imaginable. I'm starting to think that this is the real reason hats were invented.

"My MIL cut my son's hair without asking..."

A boy with red hair that's been cut and shaved oddly.
reddit | Whspers12

On the plus side, that kid is young enough that he straight up won't care what his hair looks like. Maybe this will teach the MIL to not mess with a poor kid's hair for a little while.

"Ever thought about hiring a cheap barber from craigslist? Think again."

A person's long hair, which has been cut and chopped into uneven, choppy layers.
reddit | Maklo_Never_Forget

This might very well be the most unfortunate haircut I've ever seen in my life. There's no way to fix that without cutting it all off. Moral of the story: don't use Craigslist to find a stylist.

"This is what happens if you go to a barber shop which is recommended by a bald friend."

The top of a man's head, which has a weird, thick part on one side.
reddit | cagataynebigokmen

I'm starting to wonder if this barber is the reason why OP's friend is bald. Because that would explain a lot.

"'Best barber in town.'"

A man's head where the part is shaved into the hair.
reddit | NihiList1c_JKOFC

If this is truly the "best barber in town," I think it would be time to move to a new town. Or, at the very least travel to the next town over to get your hair cut.

"After mowing, my wife decided to cut our daughter's hair…"

A man holding a toddler with choppy bangs.
reddit | leakasauras

Why does it look like the mom used lawn mowing tools to cut her daughter's hair? Again, the kid's at least young enough to not care, and will probably laugh at it in a few years.

"My mother took up a hair cutting course 9 years ago. With just little practice she confidently lured my brother in for a haircut. This is the result."

A man with a haircut that looks strangely like a toupee.
reddit | GuccimyBoi

One commenter said, "I've seen some cheap-looking toupees, but never a haircut that looks more fake than actual fake hair..." I think that really sums up this pic.

"When the stylist says 'I'm having a tough time with your hairline!'"

The back of a man's head, which shows an incredibly uneven hairline.
reddit | cleanshoes30

That's when you need to find a new stylist. The good thing about hair is that it grows back. The not-so-good thing about it is that it takes a while.

"My cousin had a coupon for Great Clips. This is what $11 gets you."

The back of a guy's head that has a hairline that was shaven crookedly.
reddit | nirmalspeed

I would say, "you buy cheap you get cheap," but you can actually get a decent haircut for $11. This poor kid just got super unlucky.

"Finally decided to take the plunge and get bangs! Now I know which stylist to never go to again."

A woman's bangs, which were cut poorly.
reddit | jordyn-bishop

I feel like bangs shouldn't be as hard to cut as they actually are. On the plus side, there's never a bad time to wear a hat.
