Wedding planning can be very complicated and stressful. For all brides, trying to do everything perfectly can be overwhelming and sometimes even tedious. We all want to make sure everything goes flawlessly on our special day.

However, we're not always sure we're making the right choices in our wedding planning venture. Luckily, experts always share their advice when it comes to weddings.

Kat Williams, the editor of Rock N Roll Bride magazine, recently shared some advice for all brides.

Kat Williams is the magazine editor for Rock n Roll Bride Magazine and a pretty bad a**. She frequently shares wedding tips, advice, and even tricks for brides to keep in mind when planning their special day.

After working for a wedding and bridal magazine for a while, Kat learned quite a few things about what she would and wouldn't want to do at her own wedding on her special day if she got married again.

One thing she said is that she'd never have a family member or a friend take the wedding photos.

Kat shared that she's heard so many stories of people having a friend or a family member who has a great camera or who does photography come to do their wedding photos and it goes very wrong. You never want to fight with friends and family on your wedding day.

Next, she said she wouldn't let people take their phones out during the ceremony.

She shared that when people take photos during your ceremony, you get random angles and terrible lighting from everyone else—nothing flattering. And, when you get your professional photos back, in the background everyone has their phones in the air.

Third, having the ceremony too late in the day.

Kat shares that you should have your ceremony earlier for a ton of reasons, especially if you have a winter or fall wedding. You want great lighting for your ceremony, so the earlier the better for lighting. But, also if you have your ceremony too late in the day, it's less time to party with friends and family.

Never, ever buy a dress that doesn't fit.

Kat shared that you should never buy a dress with hopes to slim down and fit into it later on. It's not only toxic, but Kat says it adds even more pressure to the bride when they are already stressed out planning their wedding.

The editor shared people always over-order when it comes to food because they want to please their guests, but not everyone realizes that too much food is a whole waste and it costs so much more money than needed.

In a Part 2 follow-up, Kat added on to the things she would never do, starting with never "leaving out" her partner.

Kat shared that even if you are a woman marrying a man who isn't into flowers and doves and all that stuff, it's still their wedding too and they should be included in the planning and the process of it all.

She also said she'd never stress about what other people think.

Other people are going to always have opinions about your wedding day and want to share what they feel is best. Kat says not to stress over what they think because it interferes with what you want.

She also wouldn't be too safe with her outfit choice.

When finding your "dream dress" on your wedding day, many brides want to get something that is "them," but also struggles with trying to fit into those regular bridal conventions. Kat says she ended up wearing something she didn't totally love for her own wedding.

There are so many people in our lives we want to include on our wedding day, but having too many bridesmaids can be a hassle. Instead, have jobs for people to do like reading a passage or helping set things up—the whole "bridesmaid" dress shopping can get really crazy.

Skipping the video.

Some people opt to skip out on getting a video for their wedding and instead they opt for just a photographer. Kat says you're going to regret not having a video of your wedding day to watch and look back on for years to come.

Setting a dress code for guests.

In some weddings, there can be a dress code (that goes above and beyond just dressing formally) but overall that can also be quite taxing. As long as someone doesn't show up in white, then it's a good day.

Doing things just because it's tradition.

While tradition has its place, don't get overwhelmed with overthinking on that stuff. Do what YOU want to do and don't get caught up in what tradition would ask of you.

Don't leave that DIY stuff for the last minute!

It takes a lot more time than you might realize! There are a ton of DIY things people plan to do that may take them by surprise when you realize how much work is involved.

Overall, there are a ton of things to stray away from.

If you're someone who is planning your own wedding currently, listening to what Kat has to say isn't a bad idea. She makes valid points for all of her list items—can't argue with that!
