The Lincoln Lawyer (2022) has very quickly become one of the most popular series currently streaming on Netflix. With stellar performances by series lead Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Neve Campbell, it isn't hard to understand why.

As beloved as the series undoubtedly is, quite a lot still remains unknown. So in order to get a better grasp and understanding, here is a collection of Lincoln Lawyer (2022) facts that all fans should know.

'The Lincoln Lawyer (2022)' was created by Emmy-winning producer, David E. Kelley.

David E. Kelley is the man behind some of the most popular courtroom legal dramas of the past 30 years. He's worked as a producer on The Practice, Boston Legal, and L.A. Law.

When he first received the script, actor Manuel Garcia-Rulfo was terrified.

Being that he is of Mexican descent, English is not Manuel's first language. During an appearance on Good Morning America, Manuel admitted to having panic attacks while reading through some of the legal jargon.

'The Lincoln Lawyer (2022)' is one of the most-watched series on Netflix.

Fans can't get enough of The Lincoln Lawyer (2022) and have thrust it into the #1 spot on Netflix's Top 10. The series was dethroned after the release of Season 4 of Stranger Things (Part 1).

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo believes that there's a little bit of Mickey Haller in us all.

"Mickey Haller is also one of those characters to whom everybody connects," Manuel told MetaCritic. "He's a man of the people. He connects with everybody. He could be with the biker gangs and the Cholos and the rich guys. He blends in with everybody."

The series is adapted from a novel, written by author Michael Connelly.

Michael Connelly is a New York Times best-selling author, with more than 37 books to his name. "The Lincoln Lawyer" is the first of six novels that revolve around the main character, Mickey Haller.

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo did serious research for the role of Mickey Haller.

The Lincoln Lawyer (2022) has some hefty dialogue that's bursting with legal terminology. In order to help better prepare for the role, Garcia-Rulfo watched countless hours of real-life courtroom cases.

'The Lincoln Lawyer (2022)' has already been renewed for a second season.

Just like its predecessor, Season 2 will also consist of 10 episodes. It will look to follow the events laid out in Connelly's fifth Mickey Haller novel, "The Fifth Witness."

There's one glaring mistake in the series that fans likely missed.

If you look at the license plate on Mickey Haller's Lincoln, you'll see that the letters spell DISMISSD. However, in the state of California, vanity license plates can only have up to seven letters.

Before becoming a hit Netflix series, 'The Lincoln Lawyer' was adapted into a feature film.

The Lincoln Lawyer was released in 2011 and starred Matthew McConaughey as Mickey Haller. The film was both a commercial and critical success — boasting a Tomatometer Score of 83%.

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo credits Matthew McConaughey for providing the backbone of his research into the character.

"I mean, I’m telling you…It made my research very easy. But he said, ‘Mickey Haller is a man that dances in the rain without getting wet.’ And that was such a beautiful image for me," Garcia-Rulfo said to Fangirlish.

The series boasts an incredibly talented cast.

Series star Manuel Garcia-Rulfo is a budding star of the small/big screen, best known for his work in The Magnificent Seven. Becki Newton is known for her work in Ugly Betty, as well as How I Met Your Mother, and Scream Queen Neve Campbell has become synonymous with Scream's Sidney Prescot.

The series wanted to highlight the lead character Mickey Haller's Latinx roots.

This was one of the main factors behind the decision to recast Matthew McConaughey. Unlike the film version of The Lincoln Lawyer, in the books as well as the Netflix series, Mickey Haller is of Mexican descent.

"He’s such a great author, you know. The way…the details on the characters that he writes…He throws you a lot of things that — you really feel them," Garcia-Rulfo told Fangirlish. "You really feel the atmosphere that the characters are going through."

'The Lincoln Lawyer (2022)' isn't actually based on the book of the same name.

Unlike the film version of The Lincoln Lawyer, the Netflix series is actually based on the second book set in Mickey Haller's universe, titled "The Brass Verdict."

The show was originally slated to be released on CBS back in 2020 and was canceled due to COVID-19. Netflix officially announced the series in January of 2021 but wasn't released until more than a year after — again, due to COVID-19 restrictions
