Touching Moment Selfless Trick-Or-Treater Refills Empty Bowl With His Own Candy

As a kid on Halloween, there was no better test of your restraint than approaching a house with a single bowl of candy left out for trick-or-treaters to freely pick from.

Some costumed kiddos let their excitement get the best of them and grab a handful of the free loot without thinking about the trick-or-treaters who will come after them. Others simply obey the "please take one" sign and go along on their merry way.

But what happens when that candy bowl is already empty by the time you get to it? Most of us would turn around and head to the next house, but one little boy had a different reaction.

The unnamed trick-or-treater was caught on a home's Nest Cam in Gambrills, Maryland, on Halloween night.

Dressed up as Dracula, the young boy can be seen excitedly approaching the bowl which homeowners had left out on their porch for kids to pick their candy from.

It turns out the bowl is completely empty, which is a sight no trick-or-treater likes to see. But rather than turn and leave, the boy hesitates.

After a moment's thought, he drops his own candy bag and sifts through it before dumping a handful of treats into the empty bowl.

He continues to add a few more pieces of candy to the bowl until he feels he's left a sufficient amount. Then, he rejoins his proud guardian and a toddler dressed as a bumblebee to continue their Halloween festivities.

The homeowners appreciated the selfless trick-or-treater's actions and shared the video online.

"Caught this on our Nest camera," Leslie Hodges captioned the video on Facebook. "This has got to give hope to everyone that there are still amazing people in this world. What a selfless act from this little guy!"

The video has gone viral and amassed over 15 million views since it was posted on Halloween night.

The video was later shared on Twitter and even earned a retweet from Chrissy Teigen who praised both the boy and his parents.

Of course, people online can't get over the trick-or-treater's heartwarming actions to ensure all the kids after him don't find the same bowl empty, like he did.

"Someone is raising their vampire right!" one Twitter user wrote. "What a great kid!"

Another added, "There are full grown adults stealing entire bowls of candy. This kid is awesome."
