Being a celebrity (especially while being a woman) can often feel like an open season for others to comment on the way you look. Anyone would be affected by having the entire Internet sharing their opinions on their body, it's always awesome to see a celebrity stand up for themselves and refuse to let anyone's nasty opinion change how they feel about themselves.

Selena Gomez has taken to TikTok to fire back against people who have nothing better to do than criticize the way she looks, especially when it comes to her weight.

Selena Gomez is no stranger to criticism of her body.

Selena has been very candid about all the comments she's received on her body and her weight over the years. "I’ve gotten insecure. I also have lupus, so I fluctuate in my weight a lot, so I’ve had to learn pretty early to have thick skin when it comes to this stuff and to understand that it doesn’t matter at all," she said back in 2020, after facing criticism for having allegedly gained weight in paparazzi photos taken of her on the beach.

But recently on her TikTok, Selena has opened up again about the criticism she faces about her weight.

In a series shared to her TikTok story, Selena began by saying, "So I be trying to stay skinny, but I went to Jack in the Box and I got four tacos, three egg rolls, onion rings, and a spicy chicken sandwich."

Sounds a lot like my standard Jack In The Box order too! But Selena wasn't done there.

"But honestly, I don't care about my weight," she continued.

"Because people [expletive] about it anyway," she went on. "'You're too small.' 'You're too big.' 'That doesn't fit.' 'Meh, meh, meh, meh,'" she imitated the comments she receives.

It really does feel like this battle can be impossible to win, especially for young women in Hollywood.

"I am perfect the way I am," she finished.

Fans on Twitter took the time to share how proud they were of Selena for all her growth, with one fan writing, "I’m so glad she’s got to this point. she knows she’s beautiful, she doesn’t let the haters get to her."

Another fan added, "Yes, I love when celebrities send this message because she’s just telling facts! People should not be criticizing the way somebody looks."

We couldn't agree more, and we love Selena for speaking out in her own defense!
