These days, the idea of waiting for marriage in order to have sex seems vastly outdated. Sex is something to be celebrated and shouldn't be conditional upon anything other than consent.

However, there are still those out there who choose to adhere to a more traditional set of values when it comes to sexual activity. Have a look below and check out these celebrities who waited until they said "I do" to have sex.

"I don’t want to give away bits of my soul to lots of different guys — I want to give all of myself to the right man on the right night," she said in an interview with Celebs Now. "And the right night is my wedding."

According to an interview that Jessica gave to People magazine, her virginity was something she felt very strongly about. She was initially nervous to reveal her feelings on the subject to her now ex-husband, Nick Lachey, but Jessica said that Nick always respected and understood her wishes.

Carrie told Slate magazine back in 2007 that she planned on waiting until her wedding night before she'd even broach the topic of having sex. A year later, she met her future husband, Mike Fisher, and the couple was wed in 2010.

“I think [the choice] to have sex before marriage is an individual one, but if you’re just with one person, it’s only for one good reason, and [waiting to have sex] will strengthen that relationship," Julianna said in an interview with CosmoGIRL!.

Adriana plainly stated during her 2006 interview with GQ that sex is for marriage. She also added at the time that any boyfriend of hers would have to respect that. Without respect, there's no relationship she poignantly explained.

Kevin and his brothers Joe and Nick famously wore purity rings for the bulk of their teen years. Only whereas Nick and Joe eventually took theirs off, Kevin kept his until the day he replaced it with a wedding band.

Hilary told Elle magazine back in 2006 that virginity was something that she liked about herself. At the time, she couldn't understand why people seemed so eager to have meaningless sex with someone whom they weren't in love with.

Andy Grammer

During an appearance on The Talk, Andy explained how he waited until he was already married to have sex. The "Honey, I'm Good" singer does admit to watching porn on occasion — a practice which he's since described as being self-destructive.

Tina didn't lose her virginity until she was 24-years-old and married to her husband, composer Jeff Richmond. "I couldn’t give it away," Tina joked to late-night host, David Letterman. "That’s just good, Christian values, or, being homely.”

A reluctant Zac Hanson told Howard Stern that he'd never done anything below-the-waist before his wedding night. Zac made sure to point out that he's not preaching against having premarital sex, only that he himself abstained from it.

Kirk Cameron

Kirk Cameron has borderline fundamentalist views on Christianity which extend to the notion of premarital sex. According to Kirk, married sex is the only kind that is rewarding and that lasts a lifetime.

In fairness, Kirk — how would you know?

Mariah told Daily Mirror that due to the fact that she and Nick had similar faith-based views, they decided to abstain from sex until they were married. It's not that they didn't have any intimacy, the singer explained. Rather, they didn't have complete intimacy.

In Kathie Lee's 1992 autobiography, she explained how celibacy backfired on her during her first marriage to Paul Johnson. She expected it to be so good, having saved herself for so long. But in the end, Kathie was made to realize that the two of them had zero sexual chemistry.

“I wanted to rededicate myself to God in that way because I really felt it was better for the condition of my soul,” Bieber explained to Vogue. “And I believe that God blessed me with Hailey as a result. There are perks. You get rewarded for good behavior.”
