Eminem is once again making all kinds of headlines, and once again, it's for something pretty controversial.

The rapper performed at the Super Bowl halftime show alongside other rap legends Dr. Dre, Mary J Blige, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, and Kendrick Lamar. It was, without a doubt, one of the best halftime shows ever, but like many shows, it came with some controversy from its performers.

Back in 2016, taking the knee in football became a huge controversy.

It all started when Colin Kaepernick and his teammate Eric Reid decided to kneel during the national anthem in order to protest peacefully.

They were taking a stand against racial injustice and police brutality across the United States.

Backlash was swift and fierce, but many athletes did the same to show their support for Kaepernick.

Now, Eminem is taking a stand as well.

According to reports, Eminem had decided to do the same, and Dr. Dre wanted to sing his famous lyric "still don't trust the police", but the NFL reportedly told them not to do so.

But they both decided to do so anyway.

Needless to say, this act is already making headlines all over, but Eminem has yet to respond to his kneeling, and Dr. Dre has not said anything about his choice either.

Although many online are saying that no one should be surprised that either one of them did this.

After all, Dr. Dre has famous songs where he slams police, and Eminem has always shown his support for the Black Lives Matter cause.

"Excellent #HalfTimeShow. Especially when #Eminem took a knee and by doing so said [expletive]-you to all the racists out there. #SuperBowl." one user on Twitter wrote.

People all over Twitter were in massive support of both Eminem and Dr. Dre.

Their fans gave them a lot of love on Twitter.

Most people were even baffled that people were surprised they went against what the NFL asked them, considering the strong beliefs of each rapper. The internet feels if you're surprised, then that's on you.

Of course, there are some people who don't like that he kneeled.

But ultimately, both Eminem and Dr. Dre were never actually people who cared about what others thought, that much has always been very clear.

So I'm sure they'll sleep soundly at night.

Needless to say, this will definitely go down in history as one of the greatest halftime shows of all time, regardless of the controversy that surrounds it.

Whatever people may think, ultimately all of the performers are legends in their own right, and put on a fantastically entertaining show.

That much is for sure.
