Disney has been making movies since long before most of us were even alive, so naturally, it's been getting harder and harder to keep track of them all. But that only makes it all the more exciting and nostalgic to look back at the ones that might've slipped off of your radar.

Here are 15 Disney movies that everyone forgot about:

1. "The Black Cauldron"

The Black Cauldron, released to cinemas in 1985, was based on a trilogy called, The Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander. The story is about an evil king who wants to harness the power of the "black cauldron" to take over the world.

2. "Atlantis: The Lost Empire"

Atlantis: The Lost Empire was released in 2001, and was aimed at an older audience than most Disney movies up until that point. The box office numbers weren't what they'd hoped for, and the film managed to drift into obscurity for years, despite its epic storyline and stunning mixture of 2D and 3D visuals. Interestingly, this one has been recently been making a comeback!

3. "Robin Hood"

Robin Hood is undoubtedly a Disney classic. Released in 1973, the film is about a spirited outlaw named Robin Hood and his sidekick Little John, and their pursuit to steal money from the rich and give it back to the poor, overtaxed townspeople of Nottingham.

4. "Home on the Range"

Home On The Range was released in 2004 and was Disney's last 2D animated film until 2009's Princess and the Frog. While the latter film earned far more praise and popularity overall, Home On The Range is still definitely one to revisit.

5. "Fantasia 2000"

While its predecessor, Fantasia will always be considered an iconic, timeless, Disney classic, the sequel of it that came out in 1999 was — although evidently not quite as memorable — just as magical, and like the original, also inspired by famous pieces of music.

6. "The Hunchback of Notre Dame"

The Hunchback of Notre Dame was a huge success for Disney when it first came out in 1996, but hasn't stood the test of time the way other Disney films from that era have, including Aladdin, and The Little Mermaid. Nonetheless, it's one to add to the re-watch list.

7. "James and the Giant Peach"

While The Nightmare Before Christmas has been the most popular Disney and Tim Burton stop-motion film, there was another one quite similar to it that many of us have forgotten. James and the Giant Peach is a peculiar film from 1996, about a boy named James and his insect friends who sail in a giant peach to New York City.

8. "Hercules"

While Hercules is considered an iconic Disney movie nowadays, with possibly one of the most memorable Disney villains of all-time, Hades, when it was first released it actually underwhelmed box offices. It is currently being recreated into a live-action film, however.

9. "Brother Bear"

Of course, Peter Pan is a renowned, if not slightly dated, Disney classic. And although its sequel, Return to Never Land never made it to our long-term memory banks, it was still a gem worth circling back for.

11. "The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea"

The Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea explores the life of Ariel and Prince Eric's daughter, Melody.

This goes without saying, but The Little Mermaid is easily one of Disney's most beloved films. Its sequel, however, was not.

12. "The Rescuers"

Last but certainly not least, A Goofy Movie. The film is about none other than one of Disney's most iconic characters, Goofy, and is one that was nothing short of Disney magic, but was still somehow left behind for many of us.

14. "Dinosaur"

Although Dinosaura story about a dinosaur raised by a family of lemurs, trying to survive the aftermath of a meteor shower seems to have gotten lost in the endless and growing collection of Disney movies, it was the fifth highest-grossing film in 2000.

15. "Fox and the Hound"

Fox and the Hound was first released in 1981, and although many considered this one to be a classic, it's one that has slipped many of our minds. The movie is about two cubs, a fox and a hound named Todd and Copper who become friends and face mature adversities together.
