Mighty Ducks actor, Shaun Weiss, is celebrating two years of sobriety this week. The 43-year-old was arrested back in January 2020, facing burglary and methamphetamine-related charges, but has since completed a 12-step program to sobriety.

Although he didn't get a chance to celebrate the way he wanted to — at Brent’s Deli in California — due to feeling "under the weather," he did share a post on Instagram to commemorate his recovery from addiction.

As a teenager and young adult, Weiss continued to land roles.

He appeared in notable shows like Freaks and Geeks and The King Of Queens.

However, he hasn't appeared in a film or television production since 2016, according to his IMDb profile.

In recent years, Weiss' career was put on hold as he battled his addiction. However, he is reportedly working on stand-up material and is eager to act again as he continues to progress in his recovery.

It was reported that last July, he completed a court-ordered drug program.

And had the burglary charges against him dropped. The Yuba County District Attorney’s Office praised Weiss for his “perseverance during his recovery," amid the pandemic and following a “serious accident” involving a loved one.

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with 12 amazing steps,” the 43-year-old wrote on the photo.

He shared a subsequent version of the photo without text to give fans a better look at his substantial progress.

He took to Instagram to share a photo with his more than 9000 Instagram followers, commemorating his journey.

His post showed an older photo of himself, presumably in the thick of his addiction, and a photo of himself now, looking much happier and healthier.

In another post, Weiss thanked his fans for their love and support with a photo of two socks that read "sober AF" and "two years."

He thanked followers for their "love and support" and shared a phone number to Quest 2 Recovery, for anyone who may know someone, "...in need of treatment. 866-480-2496."

The former Mighty Duck's post was met with a ton of uplifting and supportive messages from fans.

One person wrote that Weiss' recovery gave them hope about a friend that happens to be going through a similar battle with addiction — and happens to have the same name.
