Musicals can be a controversial subject among movie lovers. Those of us who love them, absolutely love them, while those of us who don't... well, don't. It can be hard to find a movie that has the musical lovers dancing in their seats without turning away the ones who'd rather talk about their problems than sing, but the Mamma Mia! movies seem to have bridged that gap.

One of the actresses involved, Christine Baranski, has recently spoken out about the possibility of a third movie to round out a trilogy.

The Mamma Mia! movies are some of the best musical movies out there.

The cast is incredible, the music is fantastic, and the stories are sweet and heart-wrenching in equal measure. I'd go so far as to say that Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again! is one of the rare cases where a sequel to a movie is even better than the original (but maybe that's just because it has my favorite ABBA song in it). It's no surprise that fans have been clamoring for a third movie to turn the set into a trilogy!

Christine Baranski, who plays fan-favorite Tanya, was recently asked about the possibility of a third movie herself.

“If we could go back and have the same amount of good fun and be on a Greek island together filming and dining together at night at some wonderful trattoria or taverna, I don’t think anybody would give you an argument,” she said, which sounds like kind of a dream vacation, but it's not without its problems.

“It’s a nightmare to get that sort of a cast together,” she added.

But Christine has a solution — a reunion film could also be fun! “I always think wouldn’t it be fun just to get back together on that Greek island and maybe film all of us having dinner and telling the stories and singing all ABBA songs?” she suggested.

“And then just have it filmed as a great night out.”

I don't know about you, but watching the Mamma Mia! cast singing ABBA songs on a Greek island sounds like my idea of perfect television, whether it's in a third movie or just for fun. Of course, it would be more fun if we were invited, but I won't hold my breath.

Would you be down for a second sequel to the film? Let us know in the comments!
