Another day, another shocking McDonald's video. Fast food restaurants could have really never predicted the impact social media would have on their product. I feel like every other month we’re hearing something weird about McDonald's food, or its employees, and this month is no exception.

This time, however, many people seem to be genuinely surprised that fast food employees aren't chopping up hundreds of pounds of onions a day.

Look, we have to all stop being surprised when we learn fast food companies are not providing us with the freshest ingredients possible.

It’s not right, and it’s definitely not okay — but it happens, especially at McDonald's.

Many teen fast-food employees are taking to the popular video-sharing app TikTok to share their behind-the-scenes knowledge of these restaurants.

The videos almost always go viral because people are both disgusted and curious about what goes on behind the golden arches.

The most recent viral video shows a McDonald's employee sharing how they make onions for their countless burger options.

If you thought there was someone back there chopping up a storm, you're in for a real surprise.

The video, posted by TikTok account user @essentialmcdonalds has already amassed 8.1 MILLION views.

The video shows the employee taking the dehydrated onions out of the bag and placing them in a plastic container under a tap to rehydrate them.

"Why did I think there’s a little man in the back dicing onions into microscopic pieces?" commented one follower.

"That's not onions, that's oatmeal and onion water," joked a different user.

However, a lot of people weren't surprised by this revelation.

"They legit sell onions like this in Walmart in the spice aisle," commented one user.

"I can’t believe dehydrated onions are what some people wanna draw the line at lmao," said another.

To be fair, you can't really argue with that last point!
