Alyssa Milano has been in the news a lot lately.
Since contracting the coronavirus , she’s been open about it. She also recently announced that she’s part of the upcoming Who’s The Boss reboot. She can be controversial, but fans love her.
But there’s so much more to this actress than just this. Come learn 10+ things fans didn’t know about Alyssa Milano.
1. She’s been an activist since she was young:
One of her first bold statements was when she was 15.
While on The Phil Donahue Show , she gave Ryan White — a young man who had contracted HIV when he was 13 through a blood transfusion — a friendship bracelet and a kiss on the cheek.
This was to show people that HIV wasn’t communicable through casual contact.

While she got a lot of flack for the move, it cemented her love for helping others.
“That moment where I felt empowered to shape and frame a narrative for a disease really empowered me to be the person that I am today. There was never a separation between celebrity and influence.” she said to Vulture .
2. She’s obsessed with baseball:

It’s what she wanted to do if she didn’t become an actress. Her 2011 baby shower was even baseball-themed and took place at Dodgers stadium.
To top it all off, she wrote the 2009 book, Safe At Home: Confessions of a Baseball Fanatic .
3. Her first acting role was when she was seven:
She starred as one of the orphans in the off-Broadway play Annie .
She auditioned for the role without her parent’s knowledge after her babysitter took her there. Clearly, she was destined for great things.
After convincing her parents to let her do it, she spent the next 18 months on the road with the show.

It was there that she knew she wanted to become an actress.
Obviously, it was the right move, since she became a powerhouse within Hollywood.
4. She has two kids:

Alyssa and her husband of 11 years, Dave Bugliari, have one boy and one girl: Milo, 8, and Elizabella, 5.

She wrote the book based on her love of activism.

8. She became a vegetarian after 9/11:

She told Viva! :
“A friend of mine came back from New York and said that he couldn’t stand the smell of burnt flesh. It immediately reminded me of a barbecue. The world has so much suffering in it already—choosing to be vegetarian is one thing you can do to reduce the suffering on a daily basis.”
While she eats a certain way, she told *Us Weekly* that she won’t enforce it on her son, Milo.

“I want him to have a normal childhood. We’ll feed him meat, and he can decide if he wants to be a vegetarian as well,” she said .
9. She voiced Angel in Disney’s sequel of *Lady and the Tramp*:

11. Her first big break was on *Who’s the Boss*:

She played the young daughter Samantha on the popular ’80s sitcom.
It was even recently announced that the show is getting a reboot !
“I AM SO EXCITED! #WhosTheBoss is coming back!!! I’ve wanted to share this for so long and now I can!” Alyssa wrote on Twitter.
“We feel the time is right to tell the story of where these amazing characters are today. Can’t wait to share their stories with you. So happy.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter , the new take “will follow Samantha’s life as a single mother — who’s now living in the same house where the original was set — and her relationship with her dad, who’s now retired.”
12. She got into a public spat with her former *Charmed* co-star, Rose McGowan:

“You have always been a lie,” she said on Twitter . “The corrupt DNC is in on the smear job of Tara Reade, so are you. SHAME.”
Milano ended up responding to McGowan’s heated tweets.
“I continue to support you and applaud your bravery as well as acknowledge all the people you have helped along the way, @Rosemcgowan. Be well and stay safe.” she wrote on Twitter.
She further explained her support of Biden to Andy Cohen.
