Playing video games for a living might sound like a dream come true, no matter what your parents say.

But if you really think about it, all that time spent online, whether you're on your PC or PS4, what does it actually get you? Yelled at and addicted to energy drinks. Or does it?

E-Sports are becoming more popular than ever and are even being televised.

E-Sports players train just as hard and are just as dedicated as other athletes – so it would make sense that their earnings would rival top athletes. But just how much are these top players making?

Let's find out!

1. Lee "Flash" Young-Ho is a South Korean StarCraft player who has earned almost half a million dollars playing the game. He has the highest win-lose ratio of any player in the world, and is widely considered to be one of the best.

Flash is famous for rebounding in losing games where he was at an insurmountable disadvantage by exploiting his opponents' mistakes!

2. Kurtis "Aui_2000" Ling is a Canadian DOTA 2 player on the reigning Internationals Champion team Evil Geniuses. He's even the highest paid Canadian pro-gamer in history.

He took home around one million dollars for the DOTA 2 Tournament last year alone.

3. Xie "Super" Junhao earned over half a million dollars playing DOTA 2 for Vici Gaming.

He hasn't been playing long, but he's been racking up the earnings through tournaments and placing second with Vici in The International 2014.

4. Team Newbee consists of five players who have all earned more than one million dollars after taking first place in the DOTA 2 tournament The International 2014.

Newbee continues to do well in tournaments and it won't be long until we see them back in the running for more prize money in the next International!
