Another day, another bizarre shoe trend.
Is it just me or is it starting to feel like fashion designers are just trolling us at this point?
Then again, there are a lot of people that actually like and wear these new "ugly" shoe trends so I guess the joke's on me.
Ugly shoes are cute now and pretty shoes are ugly. Sounds bizarre, I know, but yet here we are in the wasteland that is 2019.
The thick white kicks resemble something your dad would have worn in the '80s but now it seems to be everyone's fave.
Our society seems to love a good ugly shoe every now and then.
Take crocs for example. For as many people out there who absolutely hate crocs, there are just as many who love them.
And in the suburbs they still do.
When Uggs first came out, they had a polarizing effect on people. Some loved how warm and cozy they were and others felt like they were too big and boxy on your feet.

Designer and founder of Slashed by Tia, Teni “Tia” Adeola shared a foot selfie with her open-toe mules on.
Tia's photo then quickly made the rounds online with everyone debating about whether or not these shoes are, in fact, ugly.
"Who in the hell decided that the big toe was appealing enough to be singular?" wrote one person.
Some tweeted about how comfortable the shoes look saying things like, "My toes hurt just looking at this," and "foot gon catch a curb and gon rip a bih in half."
Many others thought the shoes resembled an animal's foot.
"This is a goat hoof," podcaster @crissles tweeted.
"The game has been forever changed! These are so different," read one tweet praising the shoe.
Others pointed out that the appeal of the shoe just depends on who's wearing them.
"I hate that I know if Rihanna or Solo wears anything like this they’re going to look fly af to me," they said.
Personally, I think I share the opinion of @crissles who replied to that tweet and said, "some people transcend ugly clothes... most of us do not."
