Ted Bundy's Ex-Girlfriend Revealed Chilling Details About Her Relationship With The Killer

Serial killer and sociopath Ted Bundy has recently been making headlines nearly 30 years since his execution.

The revival of interest in Bundy has come from the Netflix series Conversations With A Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes, which premiered last month, as well as the trailer release for the Ted Bundy biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, which is scheduled to premiere on Netflix this fall.

Zac Efron portraying Bundy has caused controversy and confusion amongst many true crime fans.

However, the general consensus is that Efron will able to convey the same charisma and charm on screen that Bundy was notorious for in real life.

In light of this exposure, an ex-girlfriend of Bundy's has come forward to share her story.

While choosing to remain anonymous, the now 71 year old looks back on her tumultuous and dangerous relationship with Bundy in an exclusive interview with The Daily Mail.

She has been silent for over 40 years, but hopes sharing her story will help her healing process.

She recalled how she met the handsome law student when he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in the summer of 1974.

She continued on to share seemingly normal moments of their time together.

"We didn't go out because we didn't have a lot of money but he would make a nice hamburger and we would sit in his kitchen with a little TV on the table and he would like to make hamburgers and we would listen to the news about all of the girls that were being murdered and disappeared."

"I would sit in the seat that would rock forward when he would come to a stop sign or a stoplight. And I would think anything of it."

Of course, it was known later that Bundy had removed the passenger seat to conceal the bodies of his victims so well.

Anyone else riding in the car could have never known it was once soaked in blood.

Bundy apparently never reacted to the mention of all the missing and murdered women.

She said that "he wouldn't make any reaction" when they watched the nightly news together.

While watching the news during one of their lowkey dinners, she recalls saying to him, "If a man ever approached me, I wouldn't let him touch me."

"And he said 'You don't have to worry about that.'"

Their relationship ended in 1975, and the two remained friendly until she was questioned by the police about Bundy's whereabouts while they were together. The memories of her murderous ex still haunt her.

"I'll never forget one night I stayed overnight and I woke up in the middle of the night and I said, 'Ted, where are you? What are you doing?' And he was through in the kitchen and he said, 'Oh just looking at my knives.'"

"I thought about that later and I thought, 'Wow, I just escaped being killed. Except that he knew better than to do it in his own apartment.'"
